Why I'm killing Tjena's business matchmaking service and launching Tjena Wing People!

TLDR: I'm closing down Tjena's paid business matchmaking and introduction service to focus entirely on what I do best - accompanying you to events as your Wing Person, enhancing event productions, delivering keynotes and workshops, and providing one-on-one networking coaching.

I'm also excited to announce the launch of Wing People Agency to scale our impact. And don't worry - I'm still a superconnector at heart, but now when I make introductions, it's purely because I see magic waiting to happen, no fees attached!

With Halloween just around the corner, I've got some news to share – I'm killing the business connection side of Tjena.

To be crystal clear: I'm no longer doing paid professional introductions or paid business matchmaking services.

And let me be clear – it's not that it didn't work.

In fact, it worked incredibly well!

But here's the thing: doing it right requires an enormous amount of time, effort, and emotional energy to ensure perfect matches and follow-through.

You know what? It just wasn't feeling sustainable anymore.

Too much complexity, too much emotional labour, and honestly? It was wearing me down. But this isn't a sad story – Tjena is evolving into something better.

Look, I'll always be a #superconnector at heart when it comes to business relationships. It's in my DNA!

Tjena was built on this idea that the right professional connection can change everything.

But turning that into a paid service? It started feeling like I was forcing puzzle pieces that didn't quite fit. My gut was telling me it was time to let go.

Here's the thing about connections – they're pure magic, and magic can't be forced into a timeline or ROI spreadsheet. An introduction I make today might spark a game-changing business partnership three years down the road. You just never know! It's like trying to measure the exact impact of an event – sometimes the most valuable outcomes are the ones you could never predict.

That's why I'm still going to be connecting amazing professionals, just differently now. Let me be clear about the boundaries:

I'm not running an open shop for business introductions.

But when I see a genuine opportunity to help and it feels right, I'll do my best to make those professional connections happen. No fees involved, just authentic business connections made with purpose and mutual respect.

And get this – while I'm closing that door, another one has blown wide open! The service side of my business is absolutely flying (pun intended), and I want to be crystal clear about exactly what Tjena is offering now:

• Your Personal Wing Person: I'll accompany you to events and help you network effectively in real life. Just recently, I was at Techarenan, helping Impact Pioneers connect with exactly the right people who could amplify their mission. Think of me as your strategic networking partner on the ground, making those crucial introductions happen naturally and effectively.
• Event Enhancement: Event producers bring me in to make their events more connected and dynamic. I work with your team to ensure everyone attending gets real value from networking opportunities. The magic happens when we create spaces for authentic connections – it's about making every interaction count.
• Speaking & Training: My keynotes and workshops energise and educate people about the art of authentic networking. I had the incredible honour of speaking at Women in Tech this year watch here, and I'm thrilled to announce I'll be speaking at Tech Summit in Jönköping in March 2025! Plus, I just wrapped up an amazing workshop with Stephanie Darvill for the Impact Pioneers, teaching them how to be effective "Wing People" and network authentically. These sessions aren't just talks – they're transformative experiences.
• One-on-One Coaching: For those who want to level up their networking game, I offer personalised coaching using interactive tools like Miro and Dex. Together, we map out your network, identify opportunities, and create actionable plans to build meaningful professional relationships. It's hands-on, it's visual, and most importantly – it works!

It's incredible to see it all coming together. Major clients are signing on because they see the value in these focused services. I'm being brought into events not just as a connector, but as someone who can lead, strategise, and create experiences that really matter.

This year has been... intense. Losing Mom, starting over – it's been a lot to handle. But you know what? Tjena is finding its feet again. All those late nights and tough decisions? They're paying off. I'm feeling stronger and clearer about where I'm headed.

Oh, and I've got one more exciting update – I'm launching the Wing People Agency!
